TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran recitation program was held on board the Jamaran Frigate of the Iranian Navy.

Quranic Program Held on Board Iranian Navy Warship

Members of the Islamic Revolution Quranic convoy Hamid Reza Ahmadivafa, Saeed Parvizi and Masoud Nikdasti recited verses from the Holy Quran at the program on Tuesday.

It marked the first day of the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) celebrations marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, head of the Navy’s Ideo-Political Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Hossein Sanatpour Amiri and a number of other commanders and officials were present at the Quranic event.

Earlier in the morning, the vessel’s horns rang for one minute to mark the anniversary of the time when Imam Khomeini (RA) returned to Iran on February 1, 1979, after years in exile.

Like previous years, the convoy of Iranian Quranic figures and activists have been traveling to different cities of the country to hold programs on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Every year, millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran (February 1 this year) marked the beginning of the Ten Day Fajr, which culminates with rallies on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 42 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
